Lawrence J. Pascal is listed in The Best Lawyers in America, various Who’s Who publications, and was named one of the Best Workplace Injury Lawyers in Virginia by the Washingtonian Magazine annual survey of lawyers by lawyers. He is a senior partner of HermanGerel brother firm Ascraft & Gerel, LLP.
Mr. Pascal received his B.A. degree from St. Anselm College and graduated from George Washington University School of Law (Delta Theta Phi) in 1997.
Mr. Pascal has been a court-appointed mediator in medical malpractice litigation. He has participated in the firm’s Agent Orange and mass tort litigation. Mr. Pascal has also been active in various aspects of asbestos litigation, as well as occupational diseases arising from toxic substances in the workplace.
Lawrence Pascal has specialized in workplace injury cases and mass torts for more than 30 years and is an acknowledged authority in this area. His treatise Virginia Workers’ Compensation Law and Practice, originally published in 1986, is now in the third edition (Michie Company), and he is the editor of the Virginia Continuing Education Legal Education text Workers’ Compensation Practice in Virginia.
Mr. Pascal is a frequent contributor to the Virginia Trial Lawyers’ Law Journal in such articles as Knocked Out By A Footnote (Winter 1996-97), and The Theory of Imposition in a Workers’ Compensation Case, Summer 1995.
He is the former chair of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association Committee on Workers’ Compensation, and is currently chair of the Virginia CLE program on workplace injuries. Mr. Pascal is a frequent lecturer at state and national CLE programs. He has also participated on the advisory committee for the Virginia General Assembly on issues affecting compensation law and victim’s rights and has testified before various legislative committees of that body.
He is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, the Virginia Bar Association, the District of Columbia Bar and the American Bar Association. During his 30 years of practice, he has been active as both a member and chair of various committees in these organizations.
