Jennifer L. Orendi was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She attended
Carnegie Mellon University, where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree
in 1996. Ms. Orendi focused her undergraduate studies on research protocols
involving functional neuroimaging of various aspects of human cognition.
Before attending law school, she was a research specialist in a neuroscience
laboratory at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she designed
studies of the neurobiological components of psychiatric illnesses in
children. While Ms. Orendi was employed as a law clerk in a national
insurance defense firm and a firm specializing in patent and trademark law,
she attended the evening program at Illinois Institute of Technology's
Chicago-Kent College of Law, from which she earned her Juris Doctor degree
with a certificate in Intellectual Property Law in 2002.
Ms. Orendi is
admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Illinois, the United States
District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and the United States
Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. She is a member of the American
Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association and
the Trial Lawyers Association of Metropolitan Washington, D.C. Ms. Orendi
practices in the District of Columbia office of Ashcraft & Gerel, LLP.
